Habitat for Humanity was founded on the principle that everyone deserves a decent place to live. Homeward Bound is an educational program offered by Habitat Dutchess for families and individuals who do not currently qualify for our Homeownership Program and want to work towards that goal.
In Homeward Bound you will work with your chosen bank, a local NeighborWorks America organization, and Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County staff. Together, we will create an Individualized Action Plan for you. The plan will have your goals for training, counseling, saving and any other tools you may need to qualify for the Habitat Dutchess Homeownership Program within 24 months or less.
Participation in the Homeward Bound Program does not guarantee acceptance into the Habitat Dutchess Homeownership Program, but the skills you learn will prepare you for the home buying process no matter what avenue you choose to pursue.
