Donate a Vehicle
Donating a vehicle is quick and easy with Habitat for Humanity’s Cars for Homes program. Towing is free and convenient. And, the donation is considered a charitable gift, so you may be able to deduct it from your taxes. Learn more.

A planned gift is one of the most impactful ways you can support our work in Dutchess County. You can easily designate gifts to our affiliate in your wills or estate plans. Charitable IRA Distribution/RMD
If you are 70½ or older, you can make a tax-free distribution from your traditional or Roth IRA to Habitat Bucks. It’s an efficient way to support the causes that matter to you most. You can donate up to $108,000 each year without incurring income tax on your withdrawal. Married couples can donate up to $216,000 each year. Email ceo@habitatdutchess.org for more information.
Employee Contributions and Matches
Many employers in Dutchess County generously match the charitable gifts of their employees. Some companies even match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses. Ask your employer whether they will match your gift to double the impact of your donation today.
Donate Appreciated Securities
Donating stocks, bonds, mutual funds or ETF’s to Habitat Dutchess is a tax-smart way to support our mission. By making a gift of appreciated securities, you may be able to avoid capital gains while meeting other personal financial goals. Donor Advised Funds
Donor-advised funds offer an easy and flexible way to support our mission. They can easily be set up through a community foundation or your financial institution and provide immediate tax benefits. ReStores accept donations of new and gently used appliances, building materials, furniture, and home décor. The proceeds from store sales help fund our programs in Dutchess and Putnam Counties. Learn more.
