About

Since 1986, Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County has brought people together to build homes, strengthen our community, and create opportunity that lasts.

Our Guiding Principles

Our Mission

Bringing people together to create, preserve, and promote affordable homeownership, strengthen communities, and help families achieve lasting stability.

Our Vision

A world where everyone has a safe and affordable place to live.

Building in Dutchess County. Part of a Global Movement.

Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County was founded in 1986 as an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Our work focuses on building a safer, stronger community by partnering with local families, volunteers, companies, and community partners.

As part of a global network of Habitat affiliates, we bring the resources and credibility of an international movement to the neighborhoods and families right here in Dutchess County.

We build and repair homes. We provide financial counseling. We advocate for housing policy that works for everyone. And we do it all in partnership with our volunteers and homebuyers.

Our Impact In Dutchess County

Everyone deserves a decent place to live. Habitat for Humanity partners with local families, volunteers and organizations to build and preserve homes in Dutchess County.

The People Behind the Mission

Habitat Dutchess County is led by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers who believe deeply that everyone deserves a decent place to call home.

Our work is overseen by a volunteer board of directors drawn from Dutchess County business leaders, community advocates, and housing professionals united by a shared commitment to our mission.

Habitat for Humanity didn’t just give us a house; they gave us a foundation for a completely different future where my children can thrive and grow in safety.

We Take Stewardship Seriously

Transparency isn’t a policy for us. It’s a value.

We believe the community that invests in this mission deserves to know exactly how their support is being used. That’s why we publish our financials every year, maintain independent audits, and pursue third-party accreditation from organizations like Candid and Charity Navigator.
