Thank you for your Interest in the Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative!
The Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative operates on the principle that “we work better together.” Homeowners, neighbors, volunteers, and local organizations donate their time to helping with projects from home repairs and rehabbing distressed properties, to planting or tending to community gardens, to offering financial literacy classes. Neighborhood Revitalization Initiatives empower residents and strengthen communities by creating a feeling of civic engagement, building a sense of responsibility and stability, and helping to preserve homes.
Our current partners in the Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative include the City of Poughkeepsie, the Village of Wappingers, Community Matters 2, and Clarke Realty & Associates. Habitat plans to expand its partner base as it moves forward with its Advancing Black Homeownership Initiative, which is dedicated to helping correct the issue of credit as an obstacle to Black homebuyers while working to meet the growing need for affordable housing and homeownership retention in the communities we serve.
