A big check means big money—and even bigger progress—for the City of Poughkeepsie, New York!

The best investments we can make are in ourselves and our communities. On Tuesday, Poughkeepsie Mayor Yvonne Flowers and City Administrator Joe Donat joined our Interim CEO, Nevill Smythe, and Chief Development Officer, Jessica Miuccio, in Schenectady, where Governor Kathy Hochul shared exciting news about investing in housing across New York State.

Governor Hochul announced the distribution of over $100 million to Pro-Housing Communities throughout the state. Poughkeepsie is among the cities eligible for additional state funding for its commitment to increasing the housing supply. As part of this initiative, Habitat for Humanity has been awarded just over $1.6 million for childcare and housing development in the city.

Exciting times are ahead for the partnership between Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County and the City of Poughkeepsie!
