Am I Eligible for Habitat for Humanity’s Homeownership Program?

Eligibility Criteria Standard Homeownership Program:
√ The maximum income for all household members combined cannot exceed 80% of the average median income (AMI) for Dutchess County. Please refer to the chart below for the AMI information for household sizes from one to eight members:
√ If you do not meet the income requirements, please visit our Homeward Bound page for information about the Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County Homeward Bound Program. This program provides education about the home buying process, and the tools and resources needed to prepare for it.
If everything looks good so far, the following is a checklist of documents you will need to submit with your application.

Required Financial Support Documents

Copy of most current tax return for ALL members of the household age 18 or older

Copy of most current W2 documents for ALL members of the household age 18 or older

Copy of two of the most current paystubs for ALL members of the household age 18 or older
***If you are accepted as a Partner in the Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County Homeownership Program, you will be required to update the above documents throughout your partnership.***

Additional Financial Support Documents
Please provide the following if any apply to your household:

Alimony or Child Support (if you receive OR pay); letter or court document stating amounts

Proof of Social Security and/or Disability (most current award letter)

Proof of Housing Subsidy (Voucher or letter for Section 8)

Government issued photo ID (License, non-drivers ID, Passport) for ALL members of household age 18 or older

Landlord Letter & Verification (Can be a copy of your lease, a letter from your landlord, or a letter from HUD)
