According to “National Geographic,” Americans send 64 tons of waste to landfills during their lifetime. That’s 246 million tons of waste each year! National Recycling Day aims to encourage Americans to purchase recycled products and recycle more. Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County’s Cars for Homes program is a great way to ensure your old clunker or unwanted vehicle doesn’t end up in a local landfill. Our ReStore accepts gently used items and surplus materials that would otherwise be discarded and sells them at discounted prices. In turn, all proceeds from both the Cars for Homes program and our ReStore go towards our mission to build and repair homes for those in need. No matter how you choose to do your part in recycling efforts, we wish you a Happy Recycling Day!
