
Thank you for your interest in the Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County Aging in Place program.
Through our Aging in Place program, Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County volunteers donate their time and skills to help homeowners with external repairs and home improvements.
Examples of projects we can accept include: widening hallways; installing grab bars; building accessibility ramps; updating flooring.
Applicants for Aging in Place must meet certain income requirements. The combined income for all occupants of the home must be between 30% and 80% of the average median income (AMI) of Dutchess County.

To be eligible for Aging in Place, you must also be able to answer “yes” to the following questions:

Is it true that you are age 65 or older?

It is true that you have not used Habitat of Dutchess County’s Neighborhood Day Program in the past?

Is this project for an owner-occupied home (not a rental)?

Does your home need minor repairs?

Do you have financial or physical limitations and can’t complete the project yourself?

Are you willing to contribute a $25 application fee if your project is approved?

If you are not physically able, will a family member or friend work with Habitat volunteers to complete the project?

Can the project be completed without using a ladder more than six feet tall?

Can the project be completed in a single day?

When the project is completed, are you willing to contribute a dish to a Community Lunch where volunteers and homeowners relax and enjoy the accomplishments of the day?
